WTRAA held a meeting in Portland, Oregon on September 30, 2011. We had a small but enthusiastic group. We discussed the progress of the scholarship fund drive. We are moving along but continue to look for donations. So please remember WTRAA during the holiday season and into 2012. And don’t forget any donation to the scholarship is tax deductible.

During the TRAA meeting in Portland WTRAA announced the Tow Woman of the Year. Congratulations to Ruth Landau for receiving this special award. If you don’t know Ruth you have certainly seen her. Besides being a WTRAA member she is a president of the PWOF Women’s Division, has served as treasurer of the same group and has been on the committee for the Florida Tow Show for 15 years. She is also a TRAA member; member of the TIM team for Florida and the Volusia County; helped with the TRAA safety committee producing the DVD’s; member of the ITRHFM and served as their board secretary; works in the credential office for the Daytona Speedway, and numerous other local organizations in her hometown of Daytona Beach, Florida. She is most deserving of this award and we are very happy to have honored Ruth.

WTRAA was also highlighted at the Baltimore show in November. Gay Rochester held an open house in her suite with her awesome display of holiday decorations. Gay put out a plea for donations to the scholarship fund and received many. A big huge thank you, Gay, for inviting WTRAA to your open house and your never-ending help with WTRAA. You are the best!!

If you have not sent in your renewal to WTRAA please do so. Our yearly dues are still only $30.00. And as always if you have any comments or questions please call any of the board members.

Next meeting will be held during the L&L Conference in March in Washington, DC. Please try to attend the conference and the WTRAA meeting. Your involvement is very important to all of us.
